Evil Cats Destroy Lives In Europe

Andrew’s Last Pre-Move Projects

My craft project of choice for quite awhile has been melty beads (I use Perler brand beads but there are other options available). I’m about to pack up my big pink bead bins for shipping and, unfortunately, my craft doesn’t travel easily so I’ll be without until we get our shipping container with all our other property. Here are my final three projects!

Holiday Puppy

This one is embarrassing! It isn’t a new project but a repair job. One artistic choice with beading is “do I press out the holes”. I prefer a style where the holes remain visible, but without diligence this can lead to bead separation. Unfortunately I hadn’t checked this cutie before giving it away and the puffball on the hat fell off! All is repaired and this puppy is back with its family.

Cthulhu Emerges!

My friend Bock made a generous donation to Extra Life this year and asked me for a Cthulhu perler as his thank you incentive. I found this pattern and I LOVE it! The suckers with the off-white/black contrast are a genius color combination. If I end up having a monster themed area in a future house I might make this again for Michelle & I!

Fallout: Nuka-Girl

And my final BIG project is another donation thank you to Corey (my #1 donor since we started doing Extra Life!!). Over the years I’ve done many smaller Fallout themed projects for Corey. I think this one really stands out, it’s huge and has some really fun highlights/shadowing. I don’t usually do my own designs but didn’t love the pattern I found online:

I ended up changing quite a few things, such as colors and shading. This was the best picture I had so there were some additional challenges with shadows which can make it look like there are false beads on the left edges.

Once I get my beads back in Portugal I think I’ll pick up a big project for us to enjoy around the house. Unfortunately due to shipping restrictions it’s unlikely I’ll be sending these projects back to the states.
